Rez Renovations: Incomplete Work And Damages Unresolved
On May 1, 2023, I purchased $2900 worth of flooring from Floor & Decor. In turn, Floor & Decor referred me to Installation Made Easy to be connected with a contractor to install the flooring in my $500,000 condo. The contractors, Nathan, and Keith DBA Rez Renovations, came to survey the job and priced it at $4422.44. When I questioned the cost, Nathan shared that the cost is higher due to tearing out the floor and disposing of it. So, as they asked, I paid half of the cost which was $2211.22. Which I received incomplete work and damages to my condo.
On May 22, 2023, when tearing out the floor posed a problem for them. They then revealed that they could install the floor over my original flooring. Neither had Rez Renovations revealed this to me in the beginning. Because the cost would have been less, nor had they informed me that they had torn a board out of the laundry room entrance floor. They opted to rig that area by stuffing it with small pieces of wood causing the floor to cave. When walking through the doorway which will ultimately crack in time.
I have asked that they replace the board that was removed. However, the contractors insisted on resolving the matter by adding more wood pieces as opposed to replacing the board. Thus, leaving my floor in a worse condition than its origination. In addition, the contractors damaged my front door with their equipment. They even discolored part of my refrigerator, and did not reinstall my dishwater correctly after moving my kitchen appliances. Rez Renovations has offered to keep the remaining balance of $1046.43. Because they reduced the balance by $1164.79 for not tearing out and disposing of my original floor.
Consequently, this company has left me with a damaged floor beneath the overlay of the new floor. As well as unresolved damages to my condo which is not okay! Additionally, I have filed a claim with their insurance company, Auto Owners, and reached out to Floor & Decor, and Installation Made Easy for assistance, ALL TO NO AVAIL!
