Scam, rude customer service, lied to by customer service rep
I’ll also add that the search produced NOTHING. I had found more on a general internet search prior to signing up for the trial.
When I noticed the charge, I called for a refund of the subscription I did not subscribe to, I was told “the most they can offer for a refund is $10.93” what…????? The representative was rude from the get-go, which really didn’t help the situation either. I made it very clear before I was offered the 1/2 priced refund and after: I wanted the full subscription refund. But nope. So, I then made it clear that I would not be using their site in the future and would make my opinion known with everywhere I was able to post a review, but more importantly with friends and colleges.
After that phone call, I did my own research of Spokeo and see now that I was lied to. It didn’t seem true at all in the first place. Now with actual research to back it up- are able to give more than a $10.93 refund.
I’ve used Truth Finder and Been Verified before with no such issue, I only used Spokeo because of the trial. I’ll make sure in the future to stick with what I know for background, in addition to widely sharing my opinion and experience with this company with friends and colleges, and adding to the thousands of bad reviews as I mentioned above.
